Financial Conflict of Interest(FCOI) (PDF, 380KB)

When entering a collaboration or partnership of academic research with public or private sector grants and contracts a risk of conflict will present itself. The FCOI is a disclosure of financial interests related to projects sponsored by NIH, NSF, or other agencies adopting the federal requirements. Further information about FCOI can be found in our Compliance section.

Gift vs. Grant (PDF, 1.8MB)

At times, a funding opportunity or an award is presented to the University and the Gift vs. Grant will be used to assist in determining if the funds should be treated a grant, which is typically administered by RSP, or a gift, which would be administered by the Foundation.

Independent Contractor vs. Employee (MS Word, 20.4KB)

The list may assist a PI in determining how a non-CSUCI individual should be included in the proposal budget.
PAR PI Form (PDF, 341KB)For all proposals, PI need to submit the completed PAR PI Form to RSP by the internal review date. The form will be included for campus reviewers as part of the proposal administrative routing process.
Provisional PI Request Form (PDF, 130KB)This form provides lecturer faculty and other staff members to be appointed to Provisional Principal Investigator (PI) status with written approval from the Provost or Vice Presidents, and with agreement to abide by all the responsibilities that PI status requires.
Subaward vs. Contractor (MS Word, 28.2KB)This list may assist a PI determine how their project partner should be included in the proposal, and this will guide the next steps in proposal preparation.

Subrecipient Commitment Form (PDF, 540KB)

For proposals where CSUCI is issuing a subaward, the partnering institutions will need to complete the Subrecipient Commitment Form at the time of the proposal submission
