The American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment (ACHA-NCHA) is a nationally recognized survey that provides CSUCI with the chance to understand student habits, behaviors, and perceptions on a wide range of health and wellness topics. The NCHA is confidential, and covers a range of topics, including mental health, nutrition, sexual health, exercise, sleep, substance use, and more. Administration of the NCHA occurs every 2-3 years. The NCHA was last administered in the Spring 2026 semester.

Why should I take the NCHA?

Responses from the NCHA are analyzed and used to improve and enhance health and wellness-related services here at CSUCI. Student responses make an impact on future wellness initiatives!

Eligibility & Timing

Who can take the NCHA?

Currently enrolled CI students who are 18 years and older. Emails are sent to eligible students from ACHA with their own personal survey link.

When can I take the survey?

The 2026 survey was available to take between February 23, 2026 - March 13, 2026.

Incentives

Is there an incentive for taking the survey?

Yes! All students who submitted a survey were entered into a random drawing for one of ten $50 gift cards to Amazon.

How to Participate

How can I take the NCHA?

During the survey period, open your Dolphin email account and search "NCHA." You will find your personal survey link.

How long does the survey take to complete?

The survey typically takes between 20-30 minutes to complete. 

Privacy & Participation Details

Are my responses confidential?

Yes! Email addresses are deleted by ACHA before data is shared with CSUCI. There are no unique identifiers on the data file that is shared.

Do I have to answer every question?

No. You may skip any question you prefer not to answer.
