Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 First-Time Freshmen and New Transfer Students
We commend you for challenging yourself by enrolling in 15 or more units! Many students find that they perform well academically while taking 15 units, however, we understand that the load won’t work for every student every semester. If you would like to reduce your academic load by one class for the current semester, please meet with an Academic Advisor through Drop-In Advising or by scheduling an appointment through Navigate.
Students must meet and understand the following conditions:
- This opportunity is only available to Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 First-Year Students
and New Transfer Students in weeks 4-12 of the current semester.
- For Fall 2024, requests will be accepted through November 15, 2024. Drop-In Advising is strongly recommended for requests close to this deadline.
- You may not drop below 12 units.
- A grade of “W” will be recorded on the student’s transcript.
- All requests will be reviewed by an Academic Advisor to ensure restrictions are adhered to.
- The grade of “W” is used in calculating Satisfactory Academic Process if you are a recipient of financial aid.
- This opportunity is not available to students in Extended University degree programs.
An email will be sent to your university email address within approximately 5-7 business days telling you if your request was approved or denied.
Please follow the campus' normal withdrawal process (Add/Drop Procedures) if you are trying to do the following:
- Drop more than one class.
- Will drop below 12 units.
- You are not a Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 First-Year Student or New Transfer Student.
Please contact Academic Advising or the Registrar’s Office with questions.
