Q. Does CSU Channel Islands have the major I want?
CSU Channel Islands offers 28 undergraduate degree programs and 37 academic minors. View our complete list of majors. Impacted majors such as Nursing (for Transfers) and Mechatronics Engineering (for Freshmen) are not available for redirects. Once you complete the 3-step intent to enroll process after being admitted, we'll ask you to declare your chosen major.
Q. Is Housing Still Available at this Time?
A. Housing is available and anyone who is admitted is eligible to apply through their myCI once you have complete the 3 step intent to enroll process. Contact Housing and Residential Education at student.housing@csuci.edu. Applications are now available.
Q. How will I pay for college?
81% of students at CSUCI receive some form of financial aid. Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid early. Remember to include your full name and other personal information (for example, your social security number) on your admission application to ensure we can match your financial aid application to you.
If you have already submitted a 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dream Application, you will need to: (a) log into your application, (b) add the school code (039803) for Cal State Channel Islands, (c) submit your application. After you submit the updates to your FAFSA/Dream Application, our school will receive your financial aid application information within 3-5 business days. Q. Will I have enough time to submit documents for my admission process?
CSU Channel Islands will review your application and conditionally admit you to our university provided you meet the minimum CSU eligibility. Once your application is submitted to us, you should receive an admission decision via email.
Q. If I have been admitted recently, what do I do next?
Students who have been admitted to CSUCI and wish to reserve a spot to enroll for Fall, you must complete the 3-step Intent to Enroll process by Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. For further instructions on how to complete the 3-steps Intent to Enroll, visit go.csuci.edu/Intent2Enroll.
Q. How do I complete the 3-Step Intent to Enroll process?
- Accept our offer of admissions online. You should have received your myCI login information via email. Log on to your myCI (myci.csuci.edu) student portal and click on “CI Records.” Your login information was sent to the email address you provided on your application. Once logged in, scroll down to the bottom of the page (under “Admissions”) and “Accept” or Decline” admission. If you did not receive this information, please email admissions@csuci.edu and request for it to be sent again.
- Register for the mandatory Orientation session. If you have logged off the myCI portal, Log back in and look for the link to register for orientation. The orientation link should be located somewhere NEXT to their CI Records link upon first logging on to your myCI account. (The link will be titled Freshman Island View Orientation and should appear similar to below).
- Pay for the online orientation session. After registering for an orientation session, you must complete the final step in the Intent to Enroll process: pay the non-refundable orientation fee. It is highly recommended that you pay the orientation fee before logging out. If you log out prior to submitting payment, you will need to use the payment link embedded in your myCI Student Center. To get there, log on to myCI and click on “CI Records” under “My Links.” For detailed instructions, visit:

Q. When do I need to submit my official transcripts?
Students need to submit their official sealed transcripts by the designated deadline for incoming admitted freshmen. Visit go.csuci.edu/AdmittedFreshmen for dates.
Request transcripts and AP/CLEP scores, if any, as early as possible. We are unable to accept transcripts emailed from the student; they must be sent directly from the high school.

Students may also hand-deliver or postal mail their transcripts to the CSUCI Admissions Office if they remain in the same sealed envelope provided to them by their registrar.
If you took AP exams in high school or College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, you must request that your official scores be sent to us directly from the College Board by the transcript deadline (unless you have already done so). AP/CLEP credit awarded from your transferring institution will not suffice. Exams taken four or more years require additional processing time. Please plan accordingly. Request scores at least 6-8 weeks in advance.
Q. When will I be able to register for classes?
Students will be able to register for courses after they have submitted their transcripts. Registration will take place before orientation. For more information about registering for classes, please visit the New Student Registration website.
Q: What if I have been denied but should have been admitted based on my requirements?
Student who have been denied can submit an appeal within 15 business days of your denial email. For instructions on how to submit an appeal, please visit the freshmen appeals webpage.
