This Syllabus Addendum provides key campus policies, procedures, and resources designed to support your success in your courses and beyond. While it does not include every university policy, it brings together essential information, making it easier for you to access and review in one place.

We encourage you to take time to familiarize yourself with this addendum and explore the available resources. Ensure that you review this site on a regular basis to stay informed about the policies and resources that support your success, as campus resources or policies may change semester to semester.

Additionally, be sure to carefully review the syllabus for each of your courses, as professors may include specific policies and expectations unique to their class. Investing time in reviewing each specific course syllabus ensures that you have taken the first steps in setting yourself up for success throughout the semester!

John Spoor Broom Library - The Broome Library provides students with access to a wide range of academic support services, including research assistance, individual and group study spaces, technology and equipment checkout (laptops, calculators, cameras), printing, and information literacy workshops. Students can also access electronic databases, peer-reviewed journals, books, and multimedia materials both on campus and remotely. Library faculty and staff are available to support students with research and citation help throughout the semester.

Study Abroad & International Programs - The mission of International Programs is to facilitate the exchange of intercultural experiences by welcoming international students to U.S. culture, and by providing opportunities for experiential learning in a foreign environment to U.S. students, who integrate their international experience into the Channel Islands campus upon their return, so as to facilitate further cultural exchange.

Disability Accommodations & Support Services (DASS) - If you are a student with a disability requesting reasonable accommodations in this course, please contact the student disability accommodations office. Inclusive Student Services (ISS) Center - The purpose of Inclusive Student Services Center is to educate the campus community, specifically students, on issues of diversity and equity, while advocating for those who are historically underrepresented including, but not limited to, those who identify as Indigenous American, Asian American & Pacific Islanders, LGBTQ+, Assembly Bill (AB) 540, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA), or Undocumented. Black Cultural Center (BCC) - The Black Cultural Center seeks to provide a brave space with staff committed to supporting the advancement, academic excellence, and degree completion of Black students at CSU Channel Islands. Veterans Resource Center (VRC)- The Veterans Resource Center supports military-connected students—including veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, and dependents—by providing a centralized space for community, connection, and services. The VRC offers access to computers, printing, peer mentoring, and assistance with benefits and academic transitions.

Wellness Promotion & Education (WPE) - Wellness Promotion & Education empowers students to make healthy, informed decisions through workshops, wellness campaigns, and peer education. Programs focus on stress management, nutrition, substance use prevention, and holistic wellness.

Student Health Services (SHS)- Student Health Services offers basic medical care for illnesses, injuries, and preventive health needs. Services include general medical consultations, sexual and reproductive health, STI testing, immunization guidance, and wellness screenings. SHS also provides free naloxone and fentanyl test strips.

Enrollment, Financial & Tech Resources

Financial Aid– The Financial Aid Office assists students in applying for and understanding their eligibility for various types of financial assistance, including grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA or CADAA annually and to check their myCI Student Center for important financial aid notifications and requirements. Staff are available to help students navigate financial aid processes throughout the academic year.

Registrar’s Office – The Registrar’s Office manages academic records and registration-related services for students. This includes enrollment and course registration, transcripts, transfer credit, degree progress, and graduation applications. Students are encouraged to contact the Registrar’s Office with questions about academic deadlines, registration holds, or records.

Student Business Services (SBS) – Student Business Services provides support related to tuition and fees, billing, payment plans, refunds, and student account information. Students can access their financial account details through their myCI portal and are encouraged to monitor important payment deadlines each semester.

Information Technology Services (IT Help Desk)– The IT Help Desk offers technical support for CSUCI accounts, email, myCI access, Wi-Fi connectivity, classroom technology, and software tools such as Microsoft 365, Zoom, and CI Learn. Campus Emergency Procedures

During urgent or emergency situations, CSU Channel Islands uses an emergency communication system, CSUCI Alert, to simultaneously reach the campus community with time-sensitive information using emails, calls or text messaging/SMS.

  • All current students and employees are automatically enrolled to receive CSUCI Alert notifications to their campus email account. However, to receive timely notifications, we highly encourage you to opt-in your mobile number to receive text messages and/or phone calls.
  • Students and employees should annually verify their CSUCI Alert contact information via myCI by clicking on your profile name near the top of the screen and selecting "Alert Settings." You may also review a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
