Welcome Students!
We understand the redirection process can be confusing and that you may have unresolved questions. We hope the following FAQ's can help you through the process.
- Information about Redirection
- Information for Admitted Redirected Students
- Information for Denied Redirected Students
Information about Redirection:
Q: What is redirection?
Eligible students who have applied to a CSU Campus but were not admitted to their
school of choice will be asked to forward their Cal State Apply application to a CSU
campus that has capacity for additional students.
Q: How does redirection work?
Since you were identified as eligible for redirection, you would have receive an email
from the CSU to update your Cal State Apply application with either a first- and second-choice CSU campus or opt-out of redirection.
Q: What does all of this mean?
It means, we have received your Cal State Apply application and we are in the process
of reviewing your application to determine your eligibility to CSU Channel Islands.
We understand we may have not been your first choice but we can certainly be your
final choice. We encourage to get to us know better by visiting our campus, exploring our academic programs, or learning more about the student support services we offer.

- Submit official sealed transcript(s) and/or AP Test Scores before July 15, 2024.
-
Please check your To-Do list in myCI to check if you are missing transcripts. To receive final clearance to attend CSU Channel Islands in the fall, you must arrange to have your final transcripts (with your graduation date posted) and AP scores (if any) sent directly to the Admissions Office at the address noted below. (Official Transcripts must be a hard copy transcript in a sealed envelope mailed to our Admissions department.)
-
Electronic transcripts are preferred. You can request official electronic transcripts from your community college or university. If your school's transcript ordering system asks for a recipient name and email, please indicate CSU Channel Islands and admissions@csuci.edu. We are unable to accept transcripts emailed from the student; they must be sent directly from the college or university.
- If your college or university is unable to send transcripts electronically, they may
be postal mailed by the college or university registrar to:
- CSU Channel Islands
ATTN: Admissions - Sage Hall
One University Drive
Camarillo, CA 93012
- CSU Channel Islands
- Students may also hand-deliver or postal mail their transcripts to the CSUCI Admissions
Office if they remain in the same sealed envelope provided to them by their registrar.
- Note: If you have taken coursework from an institution outside of the United States,
your transcript must be evaluated by a credentials evaluation service, such as International
Education Research Foundation (IERF) at www.ierf.org. Request your official report at least 6-8 weeks in advance of the transcript deadline.
- If you took AP exams in high school or College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, you must request that your official scores be sent to us directly from the College Board by the transcript deadline (unless you have already done so). AP/CLEP credit awarded from your transferring institution will not suffice. Exams taken four or more years require additional processing time. Please plan accordingly. Request scores at least 6-8 weeks in advance.
