Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides short-term mental health services in a confidential setting to assist students in achieving their academic and personal pursuits. Psychological counseling and mental health counselors are available in person, via phone, via text and in group therapy sessions.

Dean of Students

The Dean of Students Office provides opportunities for students to transition into the CSUCI community, engage in purposeful co-curricular experiences that support their development and empower them to be contributing members of a diverse society. The Dean of Students Office assists with CARE referrals, student conduct, basic needs (food pantry, emergency housing, emergency funds), Emergency Funds Grant, and the Ekho Your Heart Disaster Relief Fund.

Disability Accommodations and Support Services

Disability Accommodations and Support Services (DASS) provides all students access to every aspect of university life including classrooms, curricula, major areas of study, housing and social and educational activities. DASS also provides on-going collaborations, professional development and consultations for faculty, staff and students around disability issues inside and outside the classroom, along with promoting independence and self-confidence for students with disabilities. DASS assists students with disabilities by providing a wide range of support including student appointments, academic and housing accommodations, support programs, and other student resources.

Faculty Affairs

Within the Division of Academic Affairs, Faculty Affairs is the central location for all academic personnel programs, policies and procedures, including support to deans, program chairs, faculty and others primarily for the administration and application of the Faculty (Unit 3) Collective Bargaining Agreement. Faculty Affairs manages various academic personnel processes, e.g., faculty Retention, Tenure, and Promotion (RTP); sabbatical / difference-in-pay leaves; compensation programs; and faculty grievance procedure. Moreover, Faculty Affairs provides support for faculty recruitments, faculty orientation and other related faculty personnel functions. In essence, Faculty Affairs is an academic human resources office that provides a wide range of resources and services to the campus.

Faculty Affairs’ webpages has links to various resources that inform and guide our faculty and others on a variety of faculty-related programs, policies and procedures. This information contributes toward the larger goal of achieving educational excellence. Moreover, these resources are evolving. Through the Advancing Faculty Diversity Project, additional resources will be added to the website in the future that will integrate best practices into faculty hiring to help ensure the diversity and inclusivity of our workforce.

Inclusive Student Services

Inclusive Student Services ensures each student has access to educational experiences at CSUCI by providing programs and services which promote student development, involvement, learning and academic success for a diverse student body. The Undocumented Student Services seeks to provide caring, personalized resources and foster a supportive campus community dedicated to educational and personal success. The Intercultural Services program is committed to affirming and celebrating the unique heritage of students by promoting awareness, understanding and appreciation for all peoples and cultures. Intercultural Services assists with DACA-related incidents, students of color and Foster youth-related issues. This area provides Ally training and programs for underrepresented students, PATH and TRiO which help to retain and graduate low-income, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities.

Multicultural Dream Center

The Multicultural Dream Center (MDC) provides resources, services and education to support the cultivation of an inclusive campus community. The MDC supports all students, with a particular focus on marginalized populations, through mentorship, intercultural programs, retreats, workshops and trainings. These initiatives foster identity development, critical thinking, reflection and dialogue to support student retention and academic success.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services (SHS) is an outpatient medical clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible and professional health care to CSUCI's student population. The clinic is affiliated with the Ventura County Medical System. Individuals can contact SHS for services similar to those offered by a family physician. General services include physical exams, dermatology, gastrointestinal problems, ear/nose/throat, mental health/counseling services, smoking cessation, flu information and health education. Other services include emergency contraception, family planning services, pregnancy tests, sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment and TB tests.

Title IX & Inclusion Office

The Title IX & Inclusion office plays a role in mitigating and preventing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation (DHR) on the basis of a protected status (i.e. age, disability (physical or mental), gender (or sex), gender identity (including transgender), gender expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, nationality, race or ethnicity (including color or ancestry), religion (or religious creed), sexual orientation, sex stereotype, and veteran or military status) by connecting impacted individuals to resources, providing academic and/or workplace accommodations, conducting training, issuing interim remedies and/or investigating incidents involving  sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, dating/domestic violence and/or incidents of discrimination or harassment.  Through training, advocacy, and compliance to CSU policy, the Title IX & Inclusion office works to create a safe, inclusive, and fair educational environment. The office works in partnership with confidential resources such as CSUCI’s Campus Advocate (for faculty, staff, and students) and Counseling, and Psychological Services (CAPS).

The Title IX & Inclusion office is also responsible for providing resources and information regarding reported Clery crimes on or near campus. The Annual Security Report is published annually of all Clery reportable crimes, safety information, campus-wide prevention efforts and more.

University Police Department

The University Police Department (UPD) has primary law enforcement jurisdiction for criminal incidents occurring on-campus. Sworn police officers, along with other public safety staff, are on-duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provide both preventative patrol and emergency response services. UPD also works closely with students to coordinate a variety of community involvement and crime prevention programs on campus. UPD officers are certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and serve as first responders to all medical emergencies.

Veterans Affairs Program

The Veterans Affairs Program assists prospective and enrolled student veterans and dependents in transitioning and engaging with the campus community to ensure successful progress towards degree completion and career goals. The Veterans Affairs Program offers GI Education Benefits including assistance with CalVet Fee Waiver and deployment process. The veterans' service and campus therapy dog, Doc, is based at the Veterans Affairs Program office.
