Advocacy Services (for students and employees)

A confidential Advocate is someone with training and expertise in supporting survivors of sexual assault, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. An Advocate can provide support, review options, and assist survivors through the medical and legal processes following experiencing sexual or interpersonal violence. The Advocate provides information so that survivors can make informed decisions about what resources they would like to access. These confidential services are available to all students, faculty, and staff at CSUCI. The Campus Advocate can be reached at 805-437-3527 or campusadvocate@csuci.edu. A 24-hour crisis hotline is available by calling 805-620-4676.

Counseling & Psychological Services (for students)

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is a multi-culturally and educationally diverse group of mental health professionals. CAPS clinicians offer confidential individual and group counseling to CSUCI students and are not required to report incidents of sexual violence to the University. To schedule an appointment with a CAPS clinician or access 24/7 phone counseling, please call 805-437-2088, email caps@csuci.edu, or visit the CAPS website. Same day appointments for crisis intervention are available.

Employee Assistance Program (for employees)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential support for challenges that employees face in their everyday lives. Services are provided through OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions of California. Services include, but are not limited to: Counseling services, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Workplace problems or conflicts, Work/Life balance, Grief and loss, Coping with change, Eating disorders, Financial and legal assistance, Family support, Parenting and family issues, Help with relationships, Health and wellness support, Referrals to community resources, and Assistance in choosing the best providers.

Campus Access, Retention, & Equity Team

The Campus Access, Retention, & Equity (CARE) Team is a multidisciplinary partnership which consists of CSUCI faculty, staff, and administrators that evaluate and assess distressing or concerning behaviors exhibited by students. The CARE Team coordinates and develops a centralized response to provide assistance and intervention for students of concern and evaluates and monitors the ongoing related issue(s). Concerns about persons in distress can be reported to the CARE Team through the CARE Reporting Form.

Career Development & Alumni Engagement

Career Development & Alumni Engagement (CDAE) establishes a Dolphin network by cultivating a distinctive community of students, alumni, and industry to develop meaningful connections fostering lifelong learning and affinity between CSUCI and our graduates.

    1. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission: Support and resources related to discrimination and any form of harassment in the workplace.
    2. California Department of Fair Employment and Housing: Protects the people of California from unlawful discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations (businesses) and from hate violence and human trafficking.

Disability Accommodations & Support Services

Disability Accommodations & Support Services (DASS) recognizes the valuable diversity students with disabilities bring to our University. We accept the disability and focus on individual ability, strength, and self-advocacy. DASS assists students with disabilities by providing a wide range of support including student appointments, academic and housing accommodations, support programs, and other student resources.

International Programs

International Programs facilitates the exchange of intercultural experiences by welcoming international students to U.S. culture and by providing opportunities for experiential learning in a foreign environment to U.S. students who integrate their international experience into the CSUCI campus upon their return so as to facilitate further cultural exchange.

Multicultural Dream Center

The Multicultural Dream Center provides students with a brave space to challenge their worldviews and engage in cross-cultural interactions. We are a space dedicated to enhancing inclusive excellence on campus through various efforts, focused on supporting student retention and persistence.

Student Conduct

The Dean of Students office enforces the Student Conduct Code, holds students accountable to the standards of the University, and cultivates a culture of integrity at CSUCI. The Dean of Students office provides a fair and equitable process by balancing the rights and responsibilities of the student and the campus community. Furthermore, the office fosters student development by creating educational opportunities that promote ethics, civility, and character. Finally, the office serves as a resource to members of the campus community to support student success and a safe learning environment.

Student Government

As the elected voice of the students, Student Government is dedicated to ensuring that all students have a space to express themselves. We are committed to this by uplifting the voices of our students and bringing up their concerns to our administration. We also welcome students to voice their opinions and concerns at our senate meetings during public comment so that we can be well informed on the needs of our students.

Student Organizations & Involvement

Student Organizations & Involvement assists student organizations with designing and implementing programs, events, and activities which support and enrich the goals of CSUCI’s educational mission. Involvement in student organizations presents students with the opportunity to broaden their learning, obtain leadership and interpersonal skills, and develop a commitment to service. Student participation in clubs/organizations attracts new students to our campus and integrates them into our CSUCI culture and traditions. Student clubs/organizations strengthen campus-community relations, improve inter-institutional communications, and facilitate students’ acquisition of skills.

Title IX & Inclusion office (for students and employees)

The Title IX & Inclusion office provides resources related to questions about school policies, procedures, or support resources surrounding discrimination or harassment on the basis of protected class, including but not limited to gender, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, religion, and disability.

Undocumented Student Resources

The Undocumented Student Resources provides on-campus and off-campus resources to support our undocumented scholars excel during their time at CSU Channel Islands.
